Artist expresses depths of grief, then healing, in eye-catching paintings of fish

A new series of paintings about loss and grief tells the personal story that artist Pamela Skehan wants to share.

“Through the Belly of the Fish — A Visual Explanation of Grief,” is the title of the 14-painting exhibit depicting what Skehan described as an “endless struggle” beginning with the pandemic.

The works are on display at the East Bank Regional Library in Metairie.
