Woman catches rare ‘devil fish’ in Hyderabad’s floodwater

Amid the intense rainfall in Hyderabad, a local woman caught a rare devil fish in the floodwaters that inundated parts of the city. A video of the woman holding a suckermouth catfish, also known as the rare “devil fish,” is doing the rounds on social media.

Residents of Sai Krishna Nagar in Hyderabad’s Ramanthapur flocked around the woman’s house to get a glimpse of the rare fish she had caught in the flood water. Locals also suspect that it may have fallen from the sky during the rains on Monday.
The videos show the woman removing the rare fish from a bucket of water and displaying it for the crowd to see. Locals gathered around to see the rare fish, which had spikes on its fins and spine.
