US Source: FOX13 Memphis 11/29/2023

A 52-year-old fisherman from Southaven, Mississippi, was fined for $3,500 for illegal harvesting of fish at a Mississippi lake, officials said Wednesday.

Fu Chen pleaded guilty to one count of taking more than the daily creel limit after officials said he caught 90 crappie from the Enid Lake Spillway on Jan. 1, 2023.

That, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office of the Northern District of Mississippi, is 75 more fish than the allowed limit of 15 crappie.
