Angler sets record for biggest fish — but its smaller than you think

An angler was fishing with his 8-year-old son in Georgia when he reeled in a catch he couldn’t immediately identify. It turned out to be a record-setting fish — even though it weighed less than a pound.

Jamie Boyett now holds the state record for the spotted sunfish, also known as a stumpknocker, the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said in a June 24 news release.
