Tasmania's Petuna Aquaculture builds sperm database to breed climate-proof fish

One of Tasmania's largest salmon producers is turning to cryogenic freezing of fish sperm in an attempt to breed climate-proof fish.
 

Petuna Aquaculture breeding program coordinator Zoey Ngui is in charge of creating a salmon sperm bank to help combat the effects of climate change.

"Water temperatures are going up every year, so we need to make sure the fish can survive in these harsh conditions," she said.
