Queensland fisher fined $4,000 after pleading guilty to exceeding mangrove jack catch limit

A Queensland man has been ordered to pay more than $4,000 in court costs and penalties after pleading guilty to breaching the bag limit for mangrove jack in Kalumburu Court on Wednesday, August 21, the Western Australia Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) has confirmed.
 

The 58-year-old, who did not appear in court, was found in possession of 23 mangrove jack above the bag limit after a fishing trip with three other fishers in Napier Broome Bay in June 2023.
