Illegal fishing plagues Omani coastal cities

Despite intensified efforts by the government, illegal fishing continues to affect many Omani coastal cities. These activities are further highlighted by recent statistics released by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources (MAFWR).
 

Reflecting the scale of the problem, MAFWR reported that 60 expatriates were arrested for violating the Marine Fishing Law and Protection of Living Aquatic Resources in the month of September 2023.
