MDC invites kids to free fishing day May 4 at Bennett Spring State Park

Young anglers will have opportunities to experience the fun of catching fish and will also have chances to learn about the outdoors at Bennett Spring State Park’s Kids’ Fishing Day 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 4. It’s sponsored by the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC), Missouri Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Bennett Spring Park Store.

Kids ages 15 and under can pick up free trout tags at the park store on May 3 from 5-9:15 p.m. and all day on May 4. A section of Zone 2 and Zone 3 from the hatchery outlet to just downstream of the Suzy Hole will be reserved for the youth anglers. Volunteers will be on hand to help.
