An independent adjudicator this week said Alaska's salmon fisheries are eligible to proceed with reassessment to the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) sustainable seafood standard, despite objections from environmental groups. |

Several Canada-based environmental organizations filed objections in recent months prior to the fishery's recertification, arguing that non-selective net fisheries in Southeast Alaska were negatively impacting salmon and steelhead populations along the Pacific coast. |
