Baton Rouge man faces fines, jail time after catching over 450 fish illegally

A Baton Rouge man was cited for not following guidelines while fishing.

Gui Chen, 56, was cited for fishing without a saltwater fishing license, catching undersized spotted sea trout and having 50 or more spotted sea trout on Aug. 4.
 

According to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, agents were patrolling in Grand Isle when they spotted Chen fishing on a nearby pier. When agents were performing a compliance check, Chen had 401 white sea trout and 65 spotted sea trout. The spotted sea trout were under the minimum size requirement of 13 inches.
