San Antonio angler reels in 30-inch unusual catch in neighborhood pond

Typically in ponds throughout the city, you'll find bass or catfish. However, a San Antonio angler reeled in an unusual catch while fishing for bass at a local neighborhood pond. Jose Naranjo told MySA he hooked a massive koi fish and estimated it was about 30 to 34 inches.

Naranjo caught the koi fish on April 5 at a set of ponds close to the San Antonio Mission Trails, by City Base Landing and Research Plaza on the city's Southeast Side. He said he was fishing for bass and didn't expect to land the koi fish.
