Northern B.C. rancher faces $545,000 fines for damage to fish habitat

A Northern B.C. cattle company and its contractor have been fined more than half a million dollars for a string of acts that damaged fisheries habitat along the Chilcotin and Kleena Kleen rivers.
 

According to a statement from Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Altheer & Schellenberg Cattle Ltd. of Williams Lake has been involved in three incidents of habitat destruction over the past few years that has resulted in fines of $545,000.
