A fisherman is celebrating after reeling in a record after catching a humongous 28-stone halibut.

P aul Stevens made the 400lb catch near the Lofoten islands off Norway. The 45-year-old from Norwich, Norfolk, hooked the monster 7.5ft flat fish from off the seabed 200ft down.

His record-breaking haul landed him the title of the largest ever halibut ever caught by a Brit.

For one to grow that size it meant the creature was aged between 70 to 90 years old.

Because it was far too heavy to bring on board, Paul entered the water to have his photo taken alongside the mighty specimen.
