Salmon farming giant withdraws Scots site from scheme after finding lice-infested fish

Salmon farming giant Mowi has withdrawn one of its sites from an organic certification scheme after secret filming revealed lice-infested fish.

Surveillance by vegan charity Viva! at Mowi’s Loch Torridon site showed fish being “eaten alive” by the parasites. The charity also filmed dead and dying fish and claimed the surveillance footage showed salmon suffering from gill and bacterial disease.
