Fishing group rescued after rogue wave flips boat 22km off NSW coast

The skipper of a boat that capsized off the NSW South Coast says his life flashed before his eyes when the vessel was flipped by a rogue wave.
Rescued fisherman Ergun Hasan and his mates were rescued by the Westpac Life Saver Helicopter and winched to safety about 22km offshore from Tathra about midday on Tuesday.

Hasan sat on the bow of the boat, holding an emergency beacon.
He said the joy of seeing the helicopter approach was "unbelievable".
"It (a wave) just picked the boat up from underneath and turned us around upside down," Hasan said.
