A Western Australian fisherman has reeled in a monster catch while on an annual boys' trip.
Adrian Merendino was out on the boat with several friends between the Mesa and Tulki campgrounds in the Cape Range National Park near Exmouth in August when he hooked the 11kg, 95cm Chinaman cod.
The angler knew the "hard work" had started when the fish took him around the boat "at least twice".

"It took me about 20 minutes to get it in the boat," Merendino told 9news.com.au today.
When Merendino finally caught the fish, there was a celebration on the boat.
"There were high fives then I had to sit down and have a rest. My arms were pumping," he said.
