В первый день рыбалки не получилось. Едва вышли из-за прикрытия берега, нас встретил свежий западный ветер, гонящий вдоль проток волну. Ловить можно было только за островками и островами. А дальше, на широкой протоке, куда я собирался выйти, катились тяжелые валы с пенящимися барашками на гребнях волн.

Вначале я тянул троллингом ли, дорожкой испытанный воблер «Rapala», не раз выручавший в бесклевье. Но здесь он, наконец, и нашел свое последнее пристанище в виде крепкого дерева, лежащего на дне. Его не смогла поднять и крепкая плетенка. Не разогнулись и тройники. Видимо, как-то захлестнулась приманка с плетенкой хитрой и мертвой петлей.
