Dozens of fish have been killed at an aquatics centre after reportedly being deliberately poisoned with bleach.

Employees of World of Water, in Studley Grange Garden Centre near Swindon frantically tried to save the inhabitants of the tank, after it was believed to have been dosed with bleach in a 'cruel' attack.

A woman raised the alarm when she stepped on a fish and workers swiftly discovered that one of the tanks contained a strong chemical smell and the area was evacuated.
The 'pointless cruelty' killed all the discus and plecos fish in the tank with one shop spokesperson confirming that they will be upgrading security to protect the fish.
