Lobsters to monitor impact of offshore mussel farming

A project that will use tagged lobsters to assess the impact of offshore mussel aquaculture on ocean health is being undertaken by scientists, mussel farmers and fishers in southwest England this month.

The Ropes to Reefs project – funded through the Fisheries Industry Science Partnership (FISP) scheme – is looking to assess the wider benefits of the UK’s first large-scale offshore mussel farm, which is located in Lyme Bay.
