UK beach warning as tiny poisonous fish with agonising bite bury themselves in sand

Moelfre Coastguard in Anglesey, north Wales, says someone was stung by a venomous weever fish, whose attacks can cause swelling, itching, numbness, headaches, and even vomiting
 

A coastguard service has warned holidaymakers to be vigilant at UK beaches after a tourist was stung by a venomous weever fish.

The sting of the tiny toxic fish can be "as bad as childbirth," experts stressed today. Moelfre Coastguard said the male beachgoer was injured on the sand in Anglesey, north Wales, but the warning applies to all beaches in the region.

Sting incidents typically peak as beaches become busier during the school holidays and, with August anticipated to be warmer than our miserable July, authorities have urged Brits to be wary.
