Survey shows uptick in Lake of the Woods walleye, sauger numbers

The September survey tallied an average of 21.1 walleyes and 17.5 saugers per net, both of which are above the historic average of 15.3 for walleyes and 15.2 for saugers.
 

Walleye and sauger populations in Minnesota waters of Lake of the Woods are both above historic averages, based on results from the Department of Natural Resources’ annual fall gillnet survey.
