Six anglers were banned from fishing in Pennsylvania for the next five years.

This came after the law enforcement committee of the Pennsylvania Fishing and Boat Commission moved to ban the six anglers after two separate alleged steelhead poaching incidents in Erie County.

According to a waterways conservation officer, the first incident happened Sept. 24, 2023, at Trout Run in Erie when four people reportedly were found with 25 steelheads.

The second incident took place on Oct. 15, 2023, also at Trout Run. In this case, two people were seen on camera at the nursery getting out of a vehicle with a cooler and landing nets.
