Cчитается, что поимка плотвы – дело нехитрое и изобретать ничего не надо. Это мнение бытует, по всей видимости, оттого, что плотва распространена практически повсеместно, да и в питании рыба всеядная и неприхотливая, значит, выловить ее не составляет никакого труда. Но это не совсем так.

Еще робки первые шаги весны, и злой холод, пользуясь ее нерешительностью, нет-нет да и накинется ночными заморозками да градовыми напастями. Не хочет зимовей отдавать промороженную землю и скованные водные просторы. Озерный лед набух, почернел, но, окрепнув под ночным морозцем, еще позволяет отважному рыболову отправиться в рискованное путешествие.
