City of New Braunfels reassures tubers that there are no sharks in Comal County rivers

A Texas fisherman recently reeled in a bull shark from the Guadalupe River.

Social media was flooded with posts about sharks in Texas rivers, which prompted the City of New Braunfels to reach out to prospective tubers that are worried about the prospect of shark-infested waters in Comal County.
 

Despite recent social media posts warning tubers about a shark being caught in “the Guadalupe River,” there have been no reports of sharks in the relatively shallow fresh water of the Guadalupe River in New Braunfels," said the city on Facebook.

They go on to say that "although it is “technically” possible for bull sharks to swim in fresh water, there are very likely no sharks in the rivers in New Braunfels... probably"
