Participants are required to create an original illustration of any species from the official fish list (from bass and trout to marlin and tarpon) and for grades 4-12, a one-page writing entry about its habitat and efforts to preserve it. Entries are divided into four grade levels: K-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12.
