New fish species found in urban mega city of Hangzhou
A new fish species, Tiaoxilie or Zacco tiaoxiensis, has been discovered in Hangzhou City, southeast China's Zhejiang Province. It is rare to discover new species in such a large urban area.
 

Nicknamed "peach blossom fish" by the locals, it is grey with yellow-orange dots or stripes on its back, and turns into a brighter color during the reproduction season. Katherine Olsen, from local environmental protection NGO Green Zhejiang, took a closer look at the new species in Tiaoxi Creek.
