And the man who has set a world record for the longest vigil of looking for the Loch Ness Monster branded it a "monster-osity."

Steve Feltham is about to celebrate keeping a watch for Nessie from Dores on the loch's south side for 30 years on July 18.

But Mr Feltham, 58, says the milestone is being ruined - like his view and that of "countless tourists" - by the Mowi Scotland fish farm.

Last year Mowi - the world's largest producer of farmed Atlantic salmon - received planning permission from Highland Council to move its long-established site 220 metres north east.

But Mr Feltham, the local community council and residents say it has in fact ended up towards the middle of loch ruining the famous view.

"This is a monster-osity. The only plus side is that it is more bait for Nessie who has been reported around the cages over the years," said Mr Feltham, who first visited Loch Ness in 1970.
