Beachgoers are being warned to be vigilant after a tiny, poisonous fish has been spotted once again along the Welsh coast. Burying itself in the ground, the weaver fish leaves just its dorsal spines above the surface and lays in wait.

While appearing just two inches long, stepping on the spines of a weever fish can do plenty of damage, causing a pain that some have equated to childbirth. There is no quick fix for the pain either, meaning prevention is key.

The most recent incident in Wales occurred on Tywyn beach, Gwynedd, with a man posting a heads up of the fanger, reports NorthWalesLive. The fish are normally found along the water's edge at low tide, however they can appear anywhere on the beach.
