Впервые на подледную рыбалку я попал еще мальчишкой-школьником. И наставником-поводырем в этом святом деле стал для меня Василий Петрович Тюрин – наш сосед по дому, скромный московский рабочий, однако одержимый благородной страстью – страстью к рыбной ловле...

В то время Москва-река во всем своем течении была еще вполне приличным водоемом, и наши городские рыболовы успешно полавливали тогда в черте города самую разную рыбу. Таким вот истинно московским рыболовом, знавшим все премудрости москворецкой ловли, и был наш сосед Василий Петрович.
