Anglers reel in mysterious doomsday fish

A rare creature which looks more like an alien than a fish has been hauled out of the ocean by anglers.
While it may look other-wordily, it's actually an oarfish.
In some parts of the world, the oarfish is known as the "doomsday fish" and portends terrible events to come.
 

They can grow to a massive nine metres in length.
This one was landed by Curtis Peterson from Tiwi Islands Adventures, who shared the photo on Fishing Australia TV on Facebook.
