The Instagram clip shows the American man swimming through deep waters, where he spots a lingcod hiding between rocks.
After a few attempts the experienced angler manages to spear the fish.

He takes the fish home before expertly cutting it into fillets.

The clip has been viewed 40,000 times and has attracted a number of comments.

'I have never seen blue fish meat,' said one viewer.

'OMG its blue,' said another.

Around 20 percent of lingcods have blue or turquoise flesh.

The colour is produced by the lingcod's diet, which includes large amounts of chlorophyll.
