The Oregon chub was heralded last year as the first in U.S. history to recover from endangered status, prompting the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to proposing removing it from the list. "The trajectory of Oregon chub is staggering, considering where we've seen this species come from," said Brian Bangs, the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's chub specialist.
