Warning for beachgoers as aggressive fish lurks beneath the sand

The UK has not had any large predators since the 19th century when they were all hunted to extinction but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be wary of the aggressive species on our shores. Here in the South West, our varied landscapes of countryside and beaches mean that there's plenty of places they could be lurking.

Despite some insisting they may have spotted them, big cats and other large predators are not native to the UK. But as we head into the spring and temperatures get warmer, some easily provoked animals become more prevalent and, as always, people should remain cautious around some farm animals.
