The thrilled boat builder, who has been fishing since he could walk, said: ‘As I was reeling it in, I saw what fish it was and then my legs turned to jelly. ‘Richard was made up with the Brown Fish and I was buzzing for him, but for me to step up the next night was unbelievable. ‘It took half an hour to get it in and was a bit of a nightmare but it was worth it in the end. 'That’s definitely the highlight of my fishing career.’ The pair managed to catch the two biggest fishes in the lake - run by Luke Moffatt - within 48 hours of arriving and just before the cold snap set in.
