A Davenport couple were charged Wednesday with three counts of being over possession of white bass after police say they found them with 332 more than allowed.

Jeremy Nguyen and Chi Hue Tran, ages and address unavailable, were investigated after the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and Davenport police received an anonymous tip on May 17. Officers went to their residence where they found 128 recently caught white bass being filleted, 218 whole white bass and 628 white bass fillets in their freezer.

The Mississippi River daily limit for white bass is 25, with a possession limit of 50. White bass, abundant in the Mississippi River, rarely get larger than two or three pounds.

The anonymous tip reported that the couple was fishing the Mississippi River near the Rhythm City casino last Friday for about two or three hours, occasionally taking their catch to their car.

The anglers each face a $2,500 fine for each count and the loss of fishing privileges for two years.
