Vu, 35, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge for smuggling six Asian Arowanas in his luggage as he traveled through Los Angeles International Airport on Sept. 28. The endangered fish were found by government officials after Vu arrived from Indonesia on a commercial flight. U.S. prosecutors said the fish were still alive at the time of discovery and were being stored in bags filled with water. The Register said Asian Arowanas, also known as dragon fish or lucky fish, can not be transported into the United States without a proper permit.
