The sudden rise is being attributed to heavy rainfall on Wednesday and Thursday, and a “delayed response” of water flowing into the headwaters. The Bonaparte River had reached its peak during the spring snow melt on May 22nd, and nearly 200 properties in Cache Creek were put on evacuation alert as a result. As of 11 a.m. today, there are about 175 properties in Cache Creek are on evacuation alert.
